Everton confirm when they will move into their new stadium
Everton have confirm the Men's Senior Team will play competitive fixtures at its new stadium at the start of the 2025/26 season.
The news means next season, the 2024/25 campaign, will be the Club's last at Goodison Park.
Club officials discussed the decision with the Club's Fan Advisory Board at their latest meeting and Interim CEO and Chief Stadium Development Officer Colin Chong confirmed it in a blog released today.
Construction of the 52,888-capacity stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock remains on schedule, with work set to be complete late next year.
However, Chong confirmed in his blog that the Club has elected for a summer 2025 move after considering numerous commercial, logistical, sporting and fan-related factors.
He said the move would also allow for Goodison, Everton’s home since 1892, to be given "a fitting send-off".
Chong had outlined to the Fan Advisory Board (FAB) this summer the details that would need to be taken into consideration when choosing whether or not to complete a mid-season move from Goodison.
At the latest meeting, FAB members were informed that a thorough internal review of the options had since taken place and that feedback from supporter surveys and dialogue with fan groups had also played an important part in the decision-making process.
Everton's Chief Commercial and Communications Officer Richard Kenyon, Director of Communications and Engagement Scott McLeod and Senior Data Science and Insight Manager Mike Gittins joined Chong at the Royal Liver Building meeting, as well as representatives of the Club's Communications, Governance and Legal teams.
Chong and Kenyon answered questions from the FAB on the Club's response to the Premier League Commission ruling and the formal appeal that was lodged.
The FAB were also provided within an overview of the initial findings of the stadium migration survey that was issued to fans in October and informed of planned in-person focus groups on the matter that will take place prior to Christmas.
Kenyon answered a question in relation to Season Tickets for the final campaign at Goodison Park, confirming that timelines and prices were still being finalised but that the information would be made publicly available as soon as possible.
