FA Council ratifies non-league restructures
The proposed restructure for Steps 4-6 of non-league have now been approved by the FA Council.
Earlier this month, The FA’s Alliance and Leagues Committees recommended the changes, which had been put back by the disruption caused by the pandemic in the past year.
Under the new structure, there would be one additional division at Step 4, two more at Step 5, and a reduction from 20 to 17 at Step 6.
In addition, 110 clubs would move up the pyramid at Step 4-6 to facilitate the new divisions.
The Council have also approved the proposed National League resolutions for this season meaning there will be no relegation from the National League, North and South divisions and no promotion from the National League North and South after the season was declared null and void in them division.
