Premier League Christmas schedule draws criticism from Supporters Groups
The Premier League have confirmed their Christmas broadcasting schedule, which will include a fixture on Christmas Eve for the first time in almost 30 years.
The schedule has been confirmed with fixtures being shown across Sky Sports, TNT Sports and Amazon Prime every day from the 21st December to the 2nd January other than the 29th.
The original schedule was for three full rounds of fixtures on the 23rd, 26th and the 30th.
Wolves v Chelsea is the fixture that has been picked to take place on Christmas Eve at 1pm, which has drawn anger from the Chelsea Supporters Trust among other fan groups.
In a statement they said that the move was 'totally unacceptable' and that they have requested an 'urgent meeting with the relevant decision makers at the Premier League'.
The Premier League have previously backed down from scheduling a Christmas Eve fixture due to fan backlash, when they reversed their decision to play Arsenal v Liverpool on that date in 2017.
