“Having enjoyed my time at City in the Community, the appeal of joining the Huddersfield Town Foundation as CEO was too strong to ignore. With a strong knowledge of the area and local community, being able to contribute to making a tangible effort for the good of Kirklees is my primary motivation for taking this role on. I believe the opportunity here is huge and feel the Huddersfield Town Foundation can play a vital role in supporting the Kirklees community.
“With a wealth of experience in the sector and building on the fundamentally fantastic work already being done by the Huddersfield Town Foundation, I’m excited to build on those strong foundations together and work closely with our colleagues at the Club for the betterment of local people.
“I would like to thank the Foundation Board of Trustees, especially, Dr Delroy Beverley for appointing me to this significant role, and for the opportunity to help drive the shared ambitions of the Club Chairman, Kevin Nagle and CEO, Jake Edwards by having a positive impact on those less fortunate within the Kirklees community. I am looking forward to putting ideas into action as soon as possible.”
Huddersfield Town Foundation Chair of Trustees Dr. Delroy Beverley added:
“As the Board of Trustees look to refresh and reinvigorate the Huddersfield Town Foundation at all levels to make an even bigger and more meaningful impact in our local area, Sam’s arrival as Chief Executive Officer is an extremely critical and important part of our ambitions.
“The outstanding candidate for the position, his track record and experience provide our hugely talented staff with the best leadership possible, and I’m encouraged to see our Foundation grow and evolve under his leadership.
“Arriving at a similar time is Louise Teasdale, who has been appointed Governance and Administration Executive, we are taking the opportunity to turn over a new leaf in 2025, work more closely with our friends at the Football Club and see progress in our combined efforts that can be reflected in more opportunity and investment in Kirklees and beyond.”
