Scottish side Queen's Park announce new stadium naming rights deal

Scottish Championship side Queen's Park have announced a new long term naming rights deal with City Facilities Management, with their stadium now called The City Stadium.

City Facilities Management will immediately takeover the naming rights for the stadium, which had until now been known as Lesser Hampden. The deal represents the largest deal in Queen’s Park’s history.

Lord Haughey said: “We are delighted to be part of the next phase of Queen’s Park’s illustrious history. I have been associated with the club and Hampden for over 50 years, being brought up in Toryglen and living in the shadow of the stadium made it an easy decision to join Queen’s Park juniors. Playing for the club as a junior has created a lasting affinity with the club. As a company, City were impressed with the club’s ambitions to get closer to the community, especially through their youth development programmes. The redevelopment of Lesser Hampden will hopefully help produce future talent for both Queen’s Park and Scotland.”

Club President David Hunter commented: “Queen’s Park is a club rooted in community and determined to grow and succeed in innovative and sustainable ways. I am delighted with this latest demonstration of support from City Facilities Management. The stadium naming rights will help underpin our plans.”
