Wrexham AFC confirm several new directors to their board

Wrexham AFC has announced the appointment of four new directors to the Board of Directors following their approval by the English Football League.

The appointment of Caroline Hutchinson, Thayer Joyce, George Dewey and Ricky Engelberg is effective immediately and brings the total number of Wrexham AFC Limited Board members to nine.

Confirming the appointments on the club's official website, the statement read "the four newly appointed directors will further strengthen the Board providing an enhanced governance structure to support the CEO and senior leadership team."

They will join Co-Chairmen, Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, with current directors, Kaleen Allyn, Humphrey Ker and Shaun Harvey.

Joyce and Hutchison both previously worked with McElhenney for his More Better Industries company, whilst Engleberg and Dewey have worked with Reynolds at his Maximum Effort production company.

Commenting on their appointment the Co-Chairmen said:

“Our four new directors are not new faces to people at Wrexham AFC or the town. They’ve already been working tirelessly to improve our fortunes on and off the pitch and we welcome them as official board directors while shamelessly asking them to continue right on doing what they’re doing.”

The club are currently second in League One and three points clear of Wycombe in third place, and are aiming for back-to-back promotions as they seek to return to the second tier of English football for the first time in over 20 years.
